Santa Pub Crawls
Reno’s SantaCon brings one of the biggest Little City’s bar culture and Northern Nevada holiday spirit to one of the most Sierra Nevada-adjacent December celebrations in the West. The downtown Reno bar district along the Virginia Street corridor is the heart of Biggest Little City nightlife and when SantaCon arrives the combination of the Tahoe-Truckee ski culture proximity, the classic Nevada casino character, and the excellent local bars creates a holiday celebration with a Reno quality that is warm, adventurous, and completely Northern Nevada.
Reno has been transforming its downtown into a vibrant arts and bar scene while preserving its classic Nevada casino character and the SantaCon reflects that transformation. The Santa costume competition draws on the University of Nevada, Reno community and the ski and outdoor culture that brings people to Northern Nevada and the entries have a Mountain West adventure spirit mixed with Nevada independence.
December in Reno is cold and often snowy, typically ranging from 22 to 35 degrees at night. The Sierra Nevada winter is real and the downtown bar community provides warm, welcoming hospitality with Nevada directness. The mountains above Reno lit with winter snow create a spectacular SantaCon backdrop.
