Ugly Sweater Pub Crawls
Providence’s Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl brings the Creative Capital’s RISD-influenced bar culture and Rhode Island holiday spirit to the holiday sweater tradition. Thayer Street and the Federal Hill neighborhood are two of the most distinctive bar destinations in New England and on ugly sweater night the combination of RISD art school creativity, Brown University energy, and the excellent Providence bar community creates a holiday celebration that has a creative depth that no other New England city outside Boston can match.
Our Providence route moves through Thayer Street and the surrounding bar district, stopping at venues that represent the full quality of what Providence’s bar scene has built. The ugly sweater competition in Providence draws on the RISD artistic talent and the Brown intellectual tradition and the entries are consistently the most visually sophisticated and conceptually interesting of any ugly sweater event in New England.
December in Providence is cold, typically ranging from 25 to 35 degrees at night. The Rhode Island winter is real and the Thayer Street and Federal Hill holiday decorations are beautiful.
