The downtown Clawson bar corridor is one of the most active suburban bar scenes in Southeast Michigan and when SantaCon arrives the combination of the Oakland County community energy, the Detroit metro proximity, and the excellent local bars creates a holiday celebration with a Clawson character that is warm, local, and completely Southeast Michigan. Clawson punches well above its size class in the Southeast Michigan bar scene and the SantaCon reflects that community investment in nightlife quality. The Santa costume competition draws on the Clawson and Oakland County community and the entries have the warm, enthusiastic energy of a suburban community that knows how to have a great December pub crawl.
