Main Street runs from the pier with the bars a few blocks apart, and still nothing is scheduled. The hub holds no dates and no venue partners.
Main Street, running from Pacific Coast Highway up from the pier. That short stretch holds most of the city's bars within a few minutes' walk.
Easily. The bars sit within three or four blocks of the pier, which makes it one of the more compact beach strips in Orange County.
Surfing, and it trades on it heavily as Surf City. The US Open of Surfing each summer is the single largest event on the local calendar.
It would dominate. The US Open runs in late July and fills the pier area completely, so any summer date would need checking against it.
A mix of Orange County locals and beach visitors, skewing young in summer. Winter runs more purely on residents than the July crowd does.
Huntington is less expensive and more surf-oriented, while Newport carries a full nine-date calendar and a harbour rather than a pier.
With difficulty. There is no rail link, and OCTA buses are the only transit option, so most people arrive by car.
