About
Ventura, CA
July 4th Pub Crawls
Ventura, California is the Central Coast beach town that has not been priced into irrelevance, and on Saturday, July 4, 2027 the official Red, White and Brew bar crawl runs through its downtown. The route works Main Street, a straight walkable run that ends within sight of the Pacific.
Main Street is the whole district. Bars, breweries and restaurants line it through the downtown blocks, and the promenade and pier sit at the bottom of the hill. It is a short, dense, easy route, which is exactly what you want on a warm holiday evening when nobody feels like covering distance.
The Fourth in Ventura is a beach day that runs into a bar night without a break. The sand and the pier carry the whole afternoon, the marine layer usually holds the heat down, and the crowd drifts up Main Street as the light goes. It is a less frantic version of the holiday than anything down the coast in Los Angeles.
In 2027 the Semiquincentennial marks 250 years of American independence, and Ventura was founded in the middle of that war. Mission San Buenaventura was established here in 1782, the last mission founded by Junípero Serra, while the Revolution was still being fought on the Atlantic seaboard. The city still carries the mission’s name.
PubCrawls.com organizes and runs it. The line-up is confirmed before July 4th, each venue’s specials are agreed in advance, and your digital route map arrives before the event. Check-in is in Main Street / Downtown Ventura and nothing after that needs planning.
The Ventura July 4th pub crawl draws locals from downtown, the Avenue and Pierpont alongside visitors from Oxnard, Camarillo, Ojai, Santa Barbara and across Ventura County who come into town for the holiday.
The event is 21 and over only. Birthday groups, bachelorette parties, work crews and friend groups from across the county all make the Ventura July 4th crawl an annual plan. Groups of 20 or more can arrange pricing in advance.
Tickets are on sale now at PubCrawls.com. Downtown Ventura fills on the Fourth and the official pub crawl is limited. Buy early and mark America’s 250th birthday in a town founded while the war was still on.

Frequently Asked Questions
When is the Ventura July 4th Bar Crawl?
The Ventura listing shows Saturday, July 3, 2027, 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Six hours on the central coast in July usually means a warm afternoon and a genuinely cool evening.
Which part of Ventura does the route use?
Main Street through downtown, where the bars and restaurants concentrate a few blocks up from the beach. Your confirmed check-in venue and participating lineup arrive with the ticket confirmation.
Are there fireworks at the Ventura fairgrounds?
The seaside fairgrounds and the beach are the traditional vantage points for the city's holiday display. It sits on the Fourth itself rather than on the Saturday the crawl runs.
What is the weather like in Ventura in July?
Mild, usually in the low 70s with a marine layer that often lingers into the afternoon. Evenings on the Ventura coast get cool enough that a layer is worth having.
Is Main Street Ventura walkable that evening?
Very. The downtown stretch keeps the participating bars a couple of minutes apart, and the walk down to the promenade is short if the group wants the ocean at some point.
How busy is Ventura on July 4 weekend?
Busy. The beaches and the campgrounds fill with visitors from Los Angeles and the valley, which makes the holiday weekend one of the fuller stretches of the Ventura year.
Do people head to the Channel Islands?
Some do. The boats run out of Ventura Harbor and the holiday weekend is a popular time for it, though most of the crowd stays on the mainland beaches.
Is a ride home worth booking in Ventura?
Yes. Ventura County transport thins out badly in the evening, rideshare demand peaks across the region on the holiday Saturday, and the coast highway gets slow at closing time.
