Tempe, AZ
Pride Bar Crawl
Tempe concentrates essentially all of its nightlife onto Mill Avenue, and the Pride Bar Crawl covers that strip. The route runs the avenue from end to end.
Mill Avenue is a dense line of bars and restaurants running from the campus down toward the lake. The density is what makes it work, and the route never has to leave the street.
June in the East Valley is extremely hot, so the evening is the only sensible time to be out. The dry air cools fast after sunset and the avenue fills once it does.
Our hosts run the Mill Avenue route with the stops set in advance. Specials are agreed at each bar and one wristband covers every door.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Tempe Pride Bar Crawl?
Mill Avenue runs a dense strip of bars beside the ASU campus. One wristband covers the participating venues along it, plus a digital route map, drink specials, and after-party access.
What window does the Tempe page list?
Saturday, June 26, 2027, from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Three hours, and in a Tempe June that eight o'clock start is the earliest anyone would sensibly be outside.
When is Pride in the Phoenix metro?
The valley runs its main Pride festival in April rather than June, because June heat makes a large outdoor event unworkable. A June Tempe crawl is indoors by necessity.
Which Tempe venues does the Pride route use?
The participating bars sit along the Mill Avenue strip, often only a door or two apart. Your confirmed check-in venue and lineup come with your ticket confirmation.
Is the summer crowd different in Tempe?
Dramatically. With ASU largely empty in late June, Mill Avenue runs a fraction of its term-time volume, which makes for a much calmer and more local evening.
What should I wear in Tempe in June?
The lightest thing you own. Valley heat in late June regularly clears 110 in the afternoon and stays in the 90s at midnight, so nothing layered survives the night.
How does Tempe compare to a Scottsdale night?
Younger and cheaper. Mill Avenue is tied to the university and runs accordingly, while Old Town Scottsdale draws an older resort and visitor crowd with higher prices.
Is Mill Avenue walkable end to end?
Extremely. The bars sit shoulder to shoulder along a few blocks, which is exactly what a three-hour Tempe window needs. It is one of the densest strips in the Southwest.
