Savannah’s SantaCon brings the Hostess City’s bar culture and Georgia Lowcountry holiday spirit to one of the most hauntingly beautiful December celebrations in the South. River Street and the City Market bar corridor are the heart of Savannah nightlife and when SantaCon arrives the combination of the moss-draped squares and cobblestone streets, the SCAD arts community, and the exceptional local bars creates a holiday celebration with a Savannah character that is beautiful, bohemian, and completely Georgia’s Hostess City.
Savannah is the most architecturally beautiful city in the South with 22 historic squares, cobblestone streets, and the backdrop of Spanish moss that gives the city its beloved atmosphere. The SantaCon benefits from that extraordinary setting. The Santa costume competition draws on the SCAD community and the result is the most artistically sophisticated Santa competition in the South. SCAD students approach the Santa contest with the same rigor they bring to their coursework.
