New Years Eve Pub Crawls
Santa Cruz closes out the year the way it does most things, which is on its own terms. Pacific Avenue runs through the middle of downtown and on December 31st it becomes the spine of the whole night. The bars along it are close enough together that the crawl never needs a car, and the crowd is a mix of people who grew up here, people who came for the university and stayed, and people who drove over the hill from San Jose for a night that is not Silicon Valley.
