Salt Lake City’s SantaCon brings the Beehive State’s bar culture and Utah holiday spirit to one of the most mountain-magnificent December celebrations in the Intermountain West. The downtown SLC bar district and the 9th and 9th neighborhood are the heart of Salt Lake nightlife and when SantaCon arrives the combination of the Wasatch Mountain backdrop, the Utah Jazz energy, and the excellent local bars creates a holiday celebration with a Salt Lake City character that is warm, community-driven, and completely Utah.
Salt Lake City has developed a sophisticated and vibrant bar scene that reflects the city’s growing diversity and the SantaCon reflects that evolution. The Santa costume competition draws on the University of Utah, BYU, and Utah State communities and the Salt Lake arts scene and the entries have a Utah combination of Mountain West outdoor creativity and genuine December holiday enthusiasm.
