Santa Pub Crawls
Portland Maine’s SantaCon brings the Forest City’s bar culture and Vacationland holiday spirit to one of the most craft-beer-and-lobster-fueled December pub crawl celebrations in New England. The Old Port and the Congress Street bar districts are the heart of Portland Maine’s nightlife and when SantaCon arrives the combination of the lobster fishing heritage, the extraordinary craft beer scene, and the excellent local bars creates a holiday celebration with a Portland Maine character that is rugged, creative, and completely Vacationland.
Portland Maine has one of the highest concentrations of craft breweries and independent restaurants per capita in the country and the SantaCon reflects that foodie and craft beverage culture. The Santa costume competition draws on the University of Southern Maine community and the Portland Maine arts and creative community and the entries have a Vacationland combination of New England ruggedness and genuine coastal Maine creativity.
December in Portland Maine is cold, typically ranging from 15 to 25 degrees at night, with New England snow likely. The Maine winter is serious and the Old Port bar community provides the warm, welcoming New England hospitality that Portland Maine’s beloved community spirit is known for.
Our hosts manage the Portland Maine route through the Old Port and the Congress Street bar district. Specials confirmed at every stop, wristbands handle entry, and the Santa competition celebrates Vacationland creativity.
