Halloween Pub Crawls
Patchogue, New York spent the last two decades turning Main Street into the best night out on the south shore of Long Island, and it worked. The village has a bar and restaurant density that Suffolk County towns twice its size do not manage, all of it walkable. The Patchogue Halloween Bar Crawl takes the whole strip on October 24th.
This is a village that draws well beyond its own borders. People come in from across Suffolk because Patchogue is where the night actually happens, and on Halloween that pull is at its strongest. Main Street on the 24th is one of the busiest stretches on the south shore.
Long Island in late October is cold with a wind off the Great South Bay that makes it colder. Every stop on the crawl route is indoors, but the walk down Main Street between them is exposed, and the costumes that hold up here are built accordingly.
One wristband covers every stop. Drink specials are held for crawl ticket holders, the venues decorate for the night, and the costume contest runs across the whole route. Whether you live in the village or drove in from anywhere in Suffolk, this is the simplest way into it.
