Santa Pub Crawls
Pasadena’s SantaCon brings the City of Roses’ bar culture and San Gabriel Valley holiday spirit to one of the most Rose Bowl-adjacent December celebrations in California. Old Pasadena and the South Lake Avenue bar corridor are the heart of the City of Roses’ nightlife and when SantaCon arrives the combination of the Rose Bowl and Tournament of Roses heritage, the Caltech and ArtCenter College communities, and the excellent local bars creates a holiday celebration with a Pasadena character that is sophisticated, heritage-rooted, and completely the City of Roses.
Pasadena hosts the Rose Bowl Game and the Tournament of Roses Parade on New Year’s Day and the December SantaCon benefits from the city’s tradition of grand celebration. The Santa costume competition draws on the Caltech, ArtCenter, and PCC communities and the Pasadena arts scene and the entries have a City of Roses combination of intellectual rigor from Caltech and artistic quality from ArtCenter that creates genuinely exceptional results.
December in Pasadena is mild, typically ranging from 45 to 60 degrees at night. The San Gabriel Valley winter is pleasant and Old Pasadena’s beautifully preserved historic bar district provides one of the most atmospheric December SantaCon settings in Southern California.
Our hosts manage the Pasadena route through Old Pasadena and the South Lake bar corridor. Specials confirmed at every stop, wristbands handle entry, and the Santa competition celebrates City of Roses elegance.
