Santa Pub Crawls
Oakland’s SantaCon brings the Town’s bar culture and East Bay holiday spirit to one of the most authentically urban and creatively diverse December celebrations in the Bay Area. The Temescal and the Uptown Oakland bar districts are the heart of the Town’s nightlife and when SantaCon arrives the combination of Oakland’s deep hip-hop and arts heritage, the East Bay’s fierce community pride, and the exceptional local bars creates a holiday celebration that is warm, authentic, and completely Oakland.
Oakland is one of the most creatively important cities in America with a hip-hop and arts heritage that has influenced global culture and the SantaCon reflects that authentic community energy. The Santa costume competition draws on the Mills College, CSU East Bay, and Oakland arts community and the entries have a Town authenticity and creative excellence that is specific to a city that has been making culture while being overlooked for generations.
December in Oakland is cool, typically ranging from 45 to 55 degrees at night. The East Bay winter is mild and the Temescal and Uptown bar communities offer some of the finest and most diverse bar selections in the Bay Area.
Our hosts manage the Oakland route through Temescal and the Uptown bar district. Specials confirmed at every stop, wristbands handle entry, and the Santa competition celebrates the Town’s creative excellence.
