Long Beach’s SantaCon brings the Aquatic Capital of America’s bar culture and Los Angeles County holiday spirit to one of the most port-city-vibrant December celebrations in Southern California. The Retro Row and the Pine Avenue bar corridor are the heart of Long Beach nightlife and when SantaCon arrives the combination of the Queen Mary maritime heritage, the Long Beach waterfront setting, and the excellent local bars creates a holiday celebration with a Long Beach character that is diverse, maritime, and completely the Aquatic Capital.
Long Beach is one of the most diverse cities in California and the SantaCon reflects that multicultural vitality. The Santa costume competition draws on the Cal State Long Beach and LBCC communities and the Long Beach arts and maritime community and the entries have a Southern California combination of beach creativity and the cultural diversity that makes Long Beach one of the most interesting cities in the LA metro.
