Santa Pub Crawls
Kansas City’s SantaCon brings the City of Fountains’ bar culture and Missouri holiday spirit to one of the most vibrant December celebrations in the Midwest. The Power and Light District and the Crossroads Arts District are the heart of Kansas City nightlife and when SantaCon arrives the combination of Chiefs Kingdom energy, the beloved Kansas City BBQ culture, and the excellent local bars creates a holiday celebration with a KC character that is passionate, warm, and completely Kansas City.
Kansas City is one of the great American cities and the SantaCon reflects that quality and community pride. The Santa costume competition draws on the Chiefs Kingdom passion and the Crossroads creative community and the entries tend to blend red-and-gold football enthusiasm with genuine Santa creativity in ways that are completely Kansas City.
December in Kansas City is cold, typically ranging from 22 to 32 degrees at night. The Missouri winter is real and the Power and Light District is one of the most impressive entertainment areas in the Midwest. The KC skyline lit up for Christmas creates a genuinely beautiful SantaCon backdrop.

When does Kansas City SantaCon run?
Saturday, December 12, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The late finish means the finishing stops run well past dark, so sort the ride home rather than the walk.
Which Kansas City district hosts it?
Westport is the traditional ground, with the tightest bar cluster in the city. The Power and Light District downtown is the other candidate, newer and more enclosed.
Can I take the streetcar to the route?
The KC Streetcar runs free along Main Street between the River Market and the south end of downtown, which covers the Power and Light side but does not reach Westport.
How cold is Kansas City in mid-December?
Thirties by afternoon and twenties after dark is typical, with wind coming off the plains. A Santa suit is warmer than most costumes, which is a rare advantage.
Does the Santa suit have to be complete?
No. The crowd runs from full velvet suits down to a hat and a red shirt. The commitment level is yours, though the fully committed set the tone for the night.
Is Westport walkable in December?
Yes. The bars sit within two or three blocks of one another, which counts for more in December than in any other month on the Kansas City calendar.
