Pride Bar Crawl
Iowa City has one of the highest bar densities per block in the Midwest, arranged around a pedestrian mall in the centre of town. The Pride Bar Crawl works that downtown core.
The Ped Mall is car free, so the route between stops is a walk across a plaza rather than along a road. Very few American downtowns are laid out this conveniently for a crawl.
June in eastern Iowa is warm and green with long evenings. The university term is out, which leaves the downtown to residents and gives the rooms a different, more local character.
Our hosts run the downtown route with the stops arranged beforehand. Specials are confirmed at each bar and one wristband covers every door.
