Chattanooga’s SantaCon brings the Scenic City’s bar culture and Southeast Tennessee holiday spirit to one of the most outdoor-adventure December celebrations in the South. The North Shore and the Southside bar districts are the heart of Chattanooga nightlife and when SantaCon arrives the combination of the Tennessee River gorge setting, the rock climbing and outdoor culture that defines Chattanooga’s character, and the excellent local bars creates a holiday celebration with a Chattanooga character that is adventurous, community-driven, and genuinely Scenic City.
Chattanooga has reinvented itself as one of a popular outdoor adventure cities in the Southeast and the SantaCon reflects that transformation. The Santa costume competition draws on the UTC and Chattanooga arts community and the outdoor recreation and startup culture that has fueled the city’s revival and the entries have a Scenic City combination of Tennessee warmth and genuine mountain-adjacent creativity.
