Asheville’s SantaCon brings the Paris of the South’s bar culture and Western North Carolina holiday spirit to one of the most artistically extraordinary December celebrations in America. The Lexington Avenue arts corridor and the River Arts District are the heart of Asheville nightlife and when SantaCon arrives the combination of the Blue Ridge Mountain backdrop, the Asheville craft brewery and arts scene, and the exceptional local bars creates a holiday celebration with an Asheville character that is creative, mountain-spirited, and completely Western North Carolina.
Asheville has one of the most vibrant arts, craft brewing, and alternative culture communities in the Southeast and the SantaCon reflects that extraordinary creative density. The Santa costume competition draws on the UNCA community and the Asheville arts, music, and craft brewery community and the entries reach a level of Appalachian-meets-Brooklyn creative quality that is specific to a city that has become a destination for creative talent from across the country.
