About
Albany, NY
July 4th Pub Crawls
Albany, New York is the seat of state government and one of the oldest cities in the country, and on Saturday, July 4, 2027 the downtown bar corridor becomes the center of the official Red, White and Brew bar crawl. The route runs through Pearl Street and the blocks feeding into Lark Street, all of it on foot.
North Pearl Street is the densest run of bars in the Capital Region and it carries most of the night. The stretch holds everything from long-standing taverns to newer cocktail rooms, and Lark Street a few blocks west adds a smaller, more neighborhood-flavored set of stops. The two together give the crawl range without ever needing a car.
Albany treats the Fourth as a full-day affair. The Hudson riverfront fills early, the state workforce is off, and by evening the downtown bars are carrying a crowd that has been outside since the morning. The city empties of its commuter population on the holiday and fills back up with people who actually live here.
In 2027 the Semiquincentennial marks 250 years of American independence, and Albany has a claim on that history few cities can match. The settlement at Fort Orange dates to 1624 and Albany received its city charter in 1686, making it one of the oldest continuously chartered municipalities in the United States. It has been a seat of government here since long before there was a country.
Running the event is PubCrawls.com’s job, not yours. The bars are confirmed before the Fourth, the specials are set venue by venue, and the digital route map is in your hands before the night starts. Check-in happens in Pearl Street Lark Street.
The Albany July 4th pub crawl draws locals from downtown, Center Square and Pine Hills alongside visitors from Troy, Schenectady, Saratoga and the wider Capital Region who come into the city for the holiday. It is one of the few nights the whole region converges on the same few blocks.

Frequently Asked Questions
When is the Albany July 4th Bar Crawl?
Saturday, July 3, 2027, from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Note the year: this listing has already rolled forward to 2027, when Independence Day falls on the Sunday.
Why is the Albany crawl on July 3?
Because July 4, 2027 is a Sunday. Running the Saturday before gives Albany the full holiday weekend and leaves the Sunday free for the Empire State Plaza fireworks and family plans.
Which part of Albany does the route use?
Lark Street and the North Pearl Street blocks are the two candidates, and they draw quite different crowds. Your confirmed check-in venue arrives with the ticket confirmation.
Will the Albany fireworks clash with the crawl?
Not on the Saturday. The city's main display sits on the holiday itself, so a July 3 crawl runs the evening before rather than competing with it for the same crowd.
How hot is Albany in early July?
Warm and humid, usually in the 80s during the afternoon and still in the 70s at eleven. The 5:00 PM start lands in full sun, so plan the first hour accordingly.
Is the legislature in session in July?
No. Albany's session work has finished by then, which empties the city of a large weekday population and leaves the bars to residents and Capital Region visitors.
Is Lark Street walkable that evening?
Yes. The strip keeps its bars close together across a few blocks, and early July weather makes the walking between them genuinely pleasant rather than something to endure.
Should I arrange a ride home in Albany?
Yes. Rideshare demand across the Capital Region peaks on holiday weekend Saturdays, and the routes out toward Colonie and Delmar are not a walk from downtown. Agree the pickup point before you start.
