What is the Pittsburgh Halloween Bar Crawl?
Pittsburgh's bar density comes in long uninterrupted strips rather than scattered pockets, and this Halloween crawl takes advantage of that. One wristband covers entry and drink specials at every participating venue, plus a digital map, DJs at select stops, and after-party access.
When does the Pittsburgh crawl run?
Saturday, October 24 runs 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and Saturday, October 31 runs 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Both start at four; Halloween night finishes an hour earlier, so check which one you booked.
Which neighborhood does the route cover?
Pittsburgh's densest bar strip is East Carson Street on the South Side, one of the longest continuous runs of bars in the country. The Strip District, Market Square, and Lawrenceville are the other main options. Your confirmed venues come with your ticket.
Is the Pittsburgh route walkable?
If it runs the South Side, extremely, since East Carson lines up bar after bar along one street. Elsewhere in Pittsburgh the hills and river crossings make walking between districts unrealistic, so expect a ride if your night moves around.
Can I take the T?
The T light rail connects downtown to the South Side and points south, which makes it a reasonable way in if you are coming from that direction. Check current evening service hours, and note that it does not reach Lawrenceville or the Strip.
Where do I park for the South Side?
South Side street parking is permit-heavy and tight, and the lots near East Carson fill early. Downtown garages plus a short ride over is often the less frustrating approach on a Saturday night.
What should I wear on my feet?
Take this seriously in Pittsburgh. The city is built on hills, sidewalks are uneven in the older neighborhoods, and even a flat route like East Carson is a long walk end to end. Costume footwear you cannot stand in for five hours is a mistake.
Do I need a costume in Pittsburgh?
Not to get in, but the crawl runs a social media costume contest with a photographer and videographer covering the route. Late October in Pittsburgh is cold and often damp, so build the costume so a coat works over it.
