Santa Pub Crawls
Columbia’s SantaCon brings the Soda City’s bar culture and South Carolina holiday spirit to one of the most university-charged December celebrations in the Palmetto State. The Vista and the Five Points bar districts are the heart of Columbia nightlife and when SantaCon arrives the combination of the University of South Carolina Gamecock passion, the state capital government community, and the excellent local bars creates a holiday celebration with a Columbia character that is warm, Garnet-and-Black spirited, and completely South Carolina.
Columbia is simultaneously the state capital of South Carolina and the home of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks and the SantaCon reflects that dual energy. The Santa costume competition draws on the USC community and the Columbia arts scene and the entries consistently feature garnet-and-black Santa interpretations that only make sense in Gamecock Country.
December in Columbia is cool, typically ranging from 32 to 48 degrees at night. The Midlands South Carolina winter is moderate and the Vista and Five Points bar communities provide the warm, welcoming hospitality that the Soda City is known for.
Our hosts manage the Columbia route through the Vista and Five Points bar districts. Specials confirmed at every stop, wristbands handle entry, and the Santa competition celebrates Gamecock Country creativity.
