Ann Arbor, MI
Santa Pub Crawls
Ann Arbor’s SantaCon brings the University of Michigan’s beloved bar culture and Wolverine holiday spirit to one of the most intellectually charged December nights in the Big Ten. South Main Street and the State Street bar district are the heart of Ann Arbor nightlife and when SantaCon fills these streets with Maize-and-Blue Santas the combination of UMich academic energy, the thriving Ann Arbor arts scene, and the excellent local bars creates a holiday celebration that reflects the full depth of this remarkable Michigan city.
Ann Arbor has been called the best college town in America and the SantaCon reflects the quality and creativity of a community built around one of the great public universities in the world. The Santa costume competition draws on the engineering and arts communities at UMich and the entries have a level of technical and creative ambition that is completely Ann Arbor. Go Blue Santas are mandatory.
December in Ann Arbor is cold, typically ranging from 20 to 30 degrees at night, with the possibility of Michigan snow. The Wolverine State winter is serious and the South Main Street bar community is warm, welcoming, and well-stocked for a long December night of SantaCon.
Our hosts manage the Ann Arbor route through South Main and the State Street bar district. Specials confirmed at every stop, wristbands handle entry, and the Santa competition celebrates UMich creative excellence.
