Whoever did the design in this place did everything just right: Scallywags, in Hell’s Kitchen, is a beautiful pub. Just approaching the crimson-painted, curtained French door entrance tells you this place is something special. Inside, the floor is beautifully finished in stone tile; the bar is a stunning work of art in dark wood that’s been polished to a glassy shine; white chalk on black chalkboards up behind the bar give the daily specials a back-home feel; even the brass hardware for the beer taps are works of art in themselves. As if all this wasn’t enough, they have a fantastic weekend brunch special: from 11am to 4pm, get a free Bloody Mary, Mimosa, or Bellini! For $14.95, go ahead – make it a bottomless! It’s an Irish pub and what would an Irish pub be without live music? Scallywag’s features live music every day. The kitchen is open until 2am, so feel free to order up some beer battered onion rings and PEI mussels to go along with your Cajun shrimp wrap or hot Corned Beef on rye or just stick with the classics: bangers and mash, shepherd’s pie, or Scallywag’s House burger with herbed tomato and pickled onion.
