Convenient to the Gramercy Theater and with five big screen TVs, two dartboards, and a pool table to go with the beer pong, video games, bar trivia, digital jukebox, and live comedy acts; the free wifi offered at this tidy neighborhood bar is entirely superfluous. Come on in, order up a beer from the excellent variety of tap and bottled domestic and imported labels, and join in with the crowd of friendly locals. You might as well shut it off: you won’t need Facebook or online chat here. The interior is homage to the Irish pub without going too far – no fake Irish accents (the staff is friendly and accommodating but there are limits!). Even your wallet will love this place thanks to great specials such as Sam Sundays, where all Sam Adams products are a mere three bucks, or the all day everyday special of five Coronas for a single twenty. At these prices, bring the guys after the weekend pick-up game to celebrate the winners, console the losers, and cheer (or jeer) the pro team playing on the tube. McSwiggan’s is open until four in the morning to accommodate those coming off a late shift.
