Named for the titular character in the 1998 Irish comedy smash hit, “Waking Ned Devine”, Ned Devine’s is up front and in your face about their purpose, as they have adopted the slogan “Food by day, fun by night!” This tongue-in-cheek irreverence is shown in the “Irish Kitsch” touches, such as arched mirror and window frames that could have come straight out of a medieval monastery. This is mixed in with modern touches like the floral-shaped lamps and the sleek, tan leather arced banquette backed by a dry-stacked fieldstone wall that perfectly matches the banquette’s arc. Upstairs, it’s dining and dancing, while downstairs it’s Happy Hour and the pre-game warm-up party.
An extensive wine selection is accompanied by a solid list of specialty cocktails and beer. The suds are available in domestic and imported, bottled and draft, and craft (bottle only). Particularly interesting are the Wachusett Blueberry, the Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, and the Clown Shoes Tramp Stamp. Live music or a DJ always keeps the action happening on the dance floor. If you happen to be feeling a bit puckish you can grab a quick and tasty bite to eat. Of particular note are the Corned Beef and Cabbage Egg Rolls; the Cuban Panini; and the Irish Toastie. Ned Devine’s knows how to please all its patrons!
